Terms of Service

These terms apply to the MUBAS Alumni database (the "Service"), run by the MUBAS Alumni Association (the "Association") for graduates of the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences, formerly the University of Malawi – The Polytechnic. By registering or signing in you agree to them.

1. Who can use the Service

The Service is for people who studied at MUBAS. You must give your real registration number and accurate details. The Association may verify your record and may decline or remove records it cannot verify.

2. Your account

  • Your username is your registration number. A password is generated for you when you register.
  • Keep your password private and change it from the Settings page. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Tell the Association straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

3. Your information

You are responsible for keeping your details accurate and up to date. You decide whether your contact, work and location details are visible to other alumni. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • give false or misleading information, or pretend to be another person;
  • upload a photo that is not you, or that is offensive or unlawful;
  • copy, scrape or export alumni information, or use it for marketing, harassment or any purpose other than keeping in touch with fellow alumni;
  • try to access records or areas of the Service you are not permitted to see, or interfere with how it works.

5. Announcements

Announcements are posted by the Association for alumni. They may link to third-party websites, which the Association does not control and is not responsible for.

6. Suspension and removal

The Association may suspend or remove an account or record that breaks these terms or that it cannot verify. You may ask for your record to be removed at any time (see the Privacy Policy).

7. Availability and liability

The Service is provided as it is. The Association will take reasonable care but does not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, and is not liable for losses arising from its use, to the extent the law allows.

8. Changes

The Association may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continued use of the Service means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malawi.
